How do you know when a McPherson strut has failed? 92 Regal?

I've got one side bouncing more easily than the other.

They are to be life-time warranted, but I am only 33,000 miles in, and the passenger front strut has way more play. It feels funny when you are turning right, into a curb cut. It feels as if something is loose.

I am going to Costco today to recheck the wheel nut torquing and balancing. Do these fail that early? Could a few potholes or curbs hit while parking have done it? It hasn't caused them to fail in the past. Any thoughts on what would cause a McPherson front strut to fail....

How does one differentiate a COIL SPRING failure instead of a strut failure?

Just wondering?

Do coil springs go out after 15 to 20 years of EASY, HIGHWAY driving in a CLIMATE where snow is a rarity?

strange. i've abused my kyb's. good thing they have a lifetime warranty eh ken?

yes.. but the hassle. like... how do i drive the car without struts? and why do the senstracks that are 2 1/2 years old with 30,000 miles feel nice and fresh?

on the other hand... i know where a set of KYB rear struts will be soon... that have less than 500 miles on them... but the vehicle they are attached to looks like a pretzel.
