94 olds vert Posted October 5, 2012 Author Report Posted October 5, 2012 I have hope of an Indian summer. For now this car isn't going anywhere. Quote
virtuetovice Posted October 5, 2012 Report Posted October 5, 2012 Hell yes the white bar is awesome! Exhaust vid sounds nice as well. I'd be enjoying the hell out of this car right now the way the weather has been. Quote
94 olds vert Posted October 5, 2012 Author Report Posted October 5, 2012 Thanks Anthony! That just another reason for me to head on down south. Quote
virtuetovice Posted October 5, 2012 Report Posted October 5, 2012 Do it! We can do a mini meet. Cutlass cruises down VA Beach BLVD are the best. It'll be a forum first, as far as I know there's never been a meet this far south lol Quote
94 olds vert Posted October 5, 2012 Author Report Posted October 5, 2012 That's a valid point most W members are form the North. I really can't stand the cold. Quote
94 olds vert Posted October 23, 2012 Author Report Posted October 23, 2012 It's time to get the rims painted. White?' Or maybe the factory silver? Â Â Â Quote
ScoobyDoo82 Posted October 23, 2012 Report Posted October 23, 2012 I think those rims would look hideous in white, keep it stock. Quote
94 olds vert Posted October 23, 2012 Author Report Posted October 23, 2012 I had the same thought. They would come come close to the awesomeness of the white GP five spokes. Â If I get them in a facotry silver color then I would want them powder coated. Chrome is another option I would mind looking into for these rims. Quote
ScoobyDoo82 Posted October 23, 2012 Report Posted October 23, 2012 I think the GP 5-spokes are hideous in white too, its just TOO much white. Whereas the older GP sawblades had a chrome lip, and black accenting in the indentations of the spokes, that looks good because theres variation. Chrome may very well look good though. Quote
95cutlass Posted October 23, 2012 Report Posted October 23, 2012 I agree with keeping them factory! Quote
94 olds vert Posted April 4, 2013 Author Report Posted April 4, 2013 I started her up for the first time in roughly six months. She started up very easy. Just turned the key and she was running. The DOHC did lifter tick for a minute or so, but after the engine warmed up that went away. Â Â I do have some plans for this car. I want to polish the plenum, I have lowering springs that need to go in. Find my coolant leak. It has a leak on the passenger side. I have a trans cooler to put in. Quote
94 olds vert Posted April 5, 2013 Author Report Posted April 5, 2013 Intakes are off. I got all of the new gaskets and such to toss back on. It was very easy to get the intakes off on this car. Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â At least my coolant and oil was mixing out side of the engine. Â Quote
94 olds vert Posted April 6, 2013 Author Report Posted April 6, 2013 Anyone who has the chance to replace the heat hose quick connect do it. Â I only had one little piece of plastic left in mine. It's a wonder that it didn't leak before. Â Quote
94 olds vert Posted April 6, 2013 Author Report Posted April 6, 2013 Awhile ago I was asked for pictures of the light on with the head light covers I made. Â Â Â Â Way too dark to drive at night me thinks. Now I play the waiting game. Â Â I haven't gone anywhere with this car and I've burned this much gas? I have done a lot of idling today. Â Â Everything back together. I can honestly say this car is running the best it has in the 4 years I have owned it. Â Quote
95cutlass Posted April 7, 2013 Report Posted April 7, 2013 I like the headlight covers on your cutlass, especially helps that you car is white as well! But they do seem that they would not be bright enough at night, really masks the light. Quote
94 olds vert Posted April 7, 2013 Author Report Posted April 7, 2013 Â Â Â I drove it around a bit today. Didn't go far and didn't get over 25 mph. It was nice to drive it again. Sure did put a smile on my face. Quote
94 olds vert Posted April 8, 2013 Author Report Posted April 8, 2013 I found the source of my coolant leak. Â Â Â yay rust. Â I need to get a new piece this is is pretty rusty and I can't cut it back anymore. Quote
Psych0matt Posted April 8, 2013 Report Posted April 8, 2013 I can snap a pic of the way the monte has the coolant rine lan, if you want. It's not the best looking, but could easily be remedied if I wanted to take the time, but for a DD I don't really care Quote
94 olds vert Posted April 8, 2013 Author Report Posted April 8, 2013 That would be help Matt. I just looked at my GP. The PO just replaced it with a rubber line as well. I am striking out finding a heater hose assembly for a 94 CS. Quote
Psych0matt Posted April 8, 2013 Report Posted April 8, 2013 Â Â Like I said, not the prettiest, but in all fairness they didn't try either... Quote
94 olds vert Posted April 8, 2013 Author Report Posted April 8, 2013 That does look like a very easy way to fix it. The DOHC engine compartment is so tight. I'm having trouble getting the hose to get that bend and it kinks. Quote
Psych0matt Posted April 8, 2013 Report Posted April 8, 2013 I wonder if you could run it behind the coolant bottle... Quote
94 olds vert Posted April 8, 2013 Author Report Posted April 8, 2013 I got a formed radiator hose and cut it to size and a connector and some hose clamps. It's all together and it doesn't leak so I'm happy. No more metal means no more rust. I should be done fixing this car now. Now to wait for some nice days. I heard there is a chance of snow this week. Â Quote
intern8tion9l Posted April 10, 2013 Report Posted April 10, 2013 i'm casting a vote for white wheels Quote
94 olds vert Posted April 10, 2013 Author Report Posted April 10, 2013 I set the money aside to get them powder coated since that will hold up the best, but I still don't know what color I want. Quote
