94 olds vert Posted April 13, 2011 Author Report Posted April 13, 2011 So just a quick drive around the block got me 13 MPG. I think I may need a new fuel sender. I know the gas gauge goes past full when I fill that car all the way up. Then I run out of gas just before it gets to E. What do I have to do to replace the fuel sender? Quote
RobertISaar Posted April 13, 2011 Report Posted April 13, 2011 What do I have to do to replace the fuel sender? drop tank. Quote
94 olds vert Posted April 13, 2011 Author Report Posted April 13, 2011 drop tank. Nvm. I'll just wait till this fuel pump dies. Quote
RobertISaar Posted April 13, 2011 Report Posted April 13, 2011 (edited) well, if "fuel sender" is another way of saying the float, then yes, drop tank. otherwise, maybe less of a hassle, i'll look it up. EDIT: yeah, "fuel level sender" is the newschool term for "float" Edited April 13, 2011 by RobertISaar Quote

RobertISaar Posted April 13, 2011 Report Posted April 13, 2011 please note: revving the piss out of the engine, especially so soon after startup, not really a good idea. Quote
94 olds vert Posted April 13, 2011 Author Report Posted April 13, 2011 Yeah, I figured as much. I never beat on this car, so it shouldn't be a problem. [video=youtube;XvUd4LudbN8] My awesome 13mpg. lol I'm sure it will take a little bit of time to build up the mpgs. It did start at zero, and it was a quick trip around the block. Quote
virtuetovice Posted April 13, 2011 Report Posted April 13, 2011 You won't see decent numbers until you do at least 15 miles on the highway. Quote

ScoobyDoo82 Posted April 14, 2011 Report Posted April 14, 2011 Does DICs dont have instant econ? Thats how I know my GP does 42mpg at 55mph. Quote
94 olds vert Posted April 14, 2011 Author Report Posted April 14, 2011 Does DICs dont have instant econ? Thats how I know my GP does 42mpg at 55mph. No it does. I made a video of it, but didn't appear on camera cause I had the top down. The sun can wash out the DIS pretty easily. Maybe tomorrow I will make a video of the instant econ. Quote

94 olds vert Posted April 14, 2011 Author Report Posted April 14, 2011 Yes, it also has an avg. econ feature. Quote

94 olds vert Posted April 15, 2011 Author Report Posted April 15, 2011 May look a little dirty/dusty hasn't been washed in about 3 weeks. The DIS I got it up to 22.6 mpg today, but after doing some city driving its down to 17.4. Quote
94 olds vert Posted April 15, 2011 Author Report Posted April 15, 2011 I have got 26 mpg out of it before, but that was with 90% highway driving. Quote
RobertISaar Posted April 15, 2011 Report Posted April 15, 2011 keep in mind the DIS isn't 100% accurate, never has been, never will be, just too many variables. Quote
virtuetovice Posted April 16, 2011 Report Posted April 16, 2011 Like losing .5 MPG at a stop/idle?? Quote
