94 olds vert Posted February 25, 2010 Author Report Posted February 25, 2010 yeah Im panning on going to a few shows too is should be fun. But your car is in better shape then most of the vert`s im guessing in you area. Your Z34 should stand out no matter where you take, especially with the rear window. Most other cutlass convertible where I live are usually rusted out or in the junkyard already. Quote

I'm from michigan and where I live they salt the roads. My car is from North Carolina, and its never seen a michigan winter. Right now its sitting in the garage all protected from the snow. Quote
douellette Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 When ever I drive it I always get a lot of attention. my car is exactly the same way, ive only seen a couple of these in maine and you can tell none of them are owned by enthusiasts. haha not to change the topic but, do you think mine would look good enough to be able to enter it in a show? Anything is worth entering into a show. I entered my corvair in a show, it never wins, no surprise there. But for car cruises and stuff I take it out. If I were you I would proudly take your cutlass to any car cruise. Quote
92getragz34 Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 To be honest I don`t see why your car couldn`t be in a show or cruise Quote
douellette Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 To be honest I don`t see why your car couldn`t be in a show or cruise i dont know if you've heard of it but theres this one big car show every year in maine called the "VIP Show, Shine, and Drag" i love going to it, i dont think ive ever seen a w-body there though. and all of the cars have like $10k paint jobs or whatnot lol. LuminaPower92 Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 I enter my car in shows. Last year it was in the GM Nationals. Hence the decal in the upper windsheild. Quote

Twenty Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 I don't mind the look of just a hood bra, but the full unit doesn't do anything for me. Quote
WhatTheFehl Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 I've always viewed car bras as doing much more harm than good. And personally, I'd rather have rock chips in my paint than have a bra on my car. Quote

And personally, I'd rather have rock chips in my paint than have a bra on my car. Normally i would agree. However, 1. this car never sees snow and rain (unless im caught in it). 2. I drive a busy highway to work so protecting this car from the landscapers and dump trucks is a must. 3. Im a detail manager at a gm dealer so i keep waxing the car constantly. Quote

douellette Posted March 17, 2010 Report Posted March 17, 2010 I added an " Cutlass Supreme" emblem to inside the glove box. haha cool. it almost looks like if you took off the lid and smoothed out the edges of the glove box that it would look good like that. Quote

94 olds vert Posted April 13, 2011 Author Report Posted April 13, 2011 Then Robert's awesome breakdown of ^that^. If your like me I dunno what ^that^ is. lowered the coolant temp of where the PCM will consider knock retard to be real, from 149 to 125*F torque management: it is now your right foot, meaning it should be completely gone now, the more throttle you push, the more power you'll make, just keep that in mind if you don't want to assplode the trans. should make at least a noticeable difference in acceleration. cooling fans: #1 will now come on at 210*F and shutoff at 200*F, #2 will now come on at 215*F and shutoff at 205*F, which seems a LOT better than what GM had considering a 195*F thermostat. also: when your IAT sensor indicates that air temp is above 110*F, the #1 fan will now kick on to get air moving and cool it all down. when it gets back under 100*F, it will shut off. for some reason, the open loop target AFR when coolant temp is above 132*F was richer than before 132*F, so i leveled that off, fuel savings should be slight from that. leveled out the power enrichment AFR across the board compared to RPM, should make WOT driving a little smoother and maybe pick up a few HP. DFCO should now be a little easier to enter (that's when at relatively high MPH and you remove your foot from the throttle, the PCM cuts fuel to the injectors, good for a little MPG gain, depending on how often you hit that situation...) rev limiter no matter what: 7000RPM, restored at 6900 RPM. speed limiter: LOL, GONE! modified desired idle speed for P/N to just be SLIGHTLY higher than when in D, helps with some vehicles that have a noticable THUMP when shifting into gear. when above 80% throttle, the A/C will kick off until you get under 70% throttle, saves the compressor and acceleration picks up a bit. IF the coolant temp gets above 220*F, it will also disable the a/c in an attempt to cool down the motor, it will come back on at 215*F. trans temp: if it gets above 260*F, then it will set it's code, compared to the 299*F(!!!!!!!) that GM had it set to. cruise control: it will now be enabled at 10MPH and will self-disable should you get under 5MPH. you can now also set your cruise control at up to 255MPH your shift points at WOT are now all set to 6200RPM(maximum recommended speed for a 4T60E according to GM). WOT shifts are enabled at 95% throttle and will be disabled when under 90% throttle. TCC lockup: lowered the temp it's enabled to 110*F compared to 130*F. also softened up the PWM TCC apply by 10% across the board to make it feel even less noticable. i also quickened up the TCC release by 10% to make it jump out of it sooner to prev Quote
