Imp558 Posted September 7, 2009 Report Posted September 7, 2009 I know there's something in here somewhere to help but there's just sooo much I can't find it, lol. Does anybody know of a source for rocker panels for a 96 Regal? Or even a ground effects kit that would hide them? Mine are rotted out, naturally and I just can't seem to find a source for them anywhere. Something tells me fiberglass is in my future. Quote
AL Posted September 7, 2009 Report Posted September 7, 2009 Whats your location? A few junkyard runs might have what you need Quote
Imp558 Posted September 7, 2009 Author Report Posted September 7, 2009 I'm in Erie PA., all our cars are rotted out there. It's like a running gag. I think I'll end up doing a nice job with body filler, then gut it out and do fiberglass or weld in patches next year before paint. The problem is that it's corroded so bad there just isn't anywhere to flange for me to install sheet metal. I'll troll the yards and see what I can find. Also I may have to take a business trip to Louisiana later this year, maybe I'll find something down there and ship them to myself for later installation. Quote
Crazy K Posted September 7, 2009 Report Posted September 7, 2009 check out the rocker panel ground effects I installed on my ex lumina, they came from a GP. Quote
Imp558 Posted September 7, 2009 Author Report Posted September 7, 2009 You rock! I'm hunting down a GP armed with my tape measure next time I go to a yard. The Regal's a 4dr too. Looking at the wiki page for the Regal and the GP it looks like there were a couple different body lengths over the years. The wheelbase is the same in my year sedan, but my bumper fascias may fall different. Something is going on there! Thank You! Quote
Imp558 Posted September 7, 2009 Author Report Posted September 7, 2009 Couple little dents and scrapes, not too bad but the rockers each have 2 large holes. Quote
3pt1lumina Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 crazyk, did those gfx come from a 2 or 4 door GP? Quote
Imp558 Posted September 9, 2009 Author Report Posted September 9, 2009 Oh no, I'm with Crazy K, the ground effects will look nice and hide them. I've tried to brake stuff like this before and it never turns out well. Quote
jimmyfloyd Posted September 9, 2009 Report Posted September 9, 2009 I can check here in Binghamton. It's 4 hours from you. I also have a welder and am looking for something to practice on. If I find good rockers here, I will let you know. Quote
Crazy K Posted September 9, 2009 Report Posted September 9, 2009 crazyk, did those gfx come from a 2 or 4 door GP? 4 door. STE cars had them, but so did later GPs. Quote
Imp558 Posted September 9, 2009 Author Report Posted September 9, 2009 I appreciate the offer jimmyfloyd, that could make for a cool saturday project someday. Right now I'm going to hit my favorite yards and try to measure up some ground effects, like to look for STBs too. I'm surprised the rockers aren't available from my local body supply, every one of these cars I see here is rotted there, have to imagine the whole great lakes region has problems there. Quote
