Guest Anonymous
I'm planning on putting a new cam in this 3.1 that's going in my '89. I need to find one that increases power from lowend to topend. Or real close. It has a jet chip in it now. It will have an FFP chip and u/d pulley. BTW, it's a 5-speed, if that matters. Also, I'd like it to work with the stock valvetrain. I'm not looking to sink alot of money in it right now.

SmoothSteve3
Question for ya'll- On those aftermarket cams, what do they mean by "rpm range: 1000 to 4000"? Does that mean that those cams redline at 4000? or does it just mean that normal driving should stay within those bounds? If it does redline at 4000, then why does the stock cam redline around 6000 (for the n/a 3.1 MPFI)? SmoothSteve3

badprix
I would choose the cam with the power in the 1500-4500 rpm range because of your 5-speed and you'll have the ud pulley and chip which helps the engine rev quicker.
