boulevard
I am currently removing the front KYB struts on Christine. Today is my last day of actual stripping of this car. Every last piece has to come off tonight. Question: If I remove the front struts and simply replace the nuts, without the strut tower caps, can the car still be lifted from the front end for towing? Maybe even just to roll her so I can push her into position for towing? Thanks for the help.
CSI_MuNkY
Nope, there will be nothing holding the front laterally, your wheels will literally flop around. Jamie

Jamie So I will at least need a piece of cut pipe to take place of the strut? and replacing the nuts? I figured by now, that the nuts ain't holding chit together, right? Whats the minimum I have to do, to get this to work?
CSI_MuNkY
I would go to the wreckers and pulls some blown strut cartridges. If they are blown they will cost next to nothing. Out of curiosity, what coil overs did you have on that car? I know they sold, I'm just curious. Jamie

Installed when she was first painted Torch Red. I had only ridden them for about 9,000 miles. They were never an issue. One of the threaded sleeves was cracked when they were removed. I never noticed a change so I don't know when that could have happeaned.
boulevard
Can the car be flat bedded? I'd hate to see a car on it's side in the middle of my alley.
GOT2B GM
Call a scrap metal place and they'll come and drag the bitch up on a flatbed and haul it off. Won't be pretty, but it doesnt have to be.

I left them in. Phuck it!
