Addicted To Boost Posted September 4, 2009 Report Posted September 4, 2009 The check valve is HELP! #47150. Grab a couple, I've burned through several in my TGP. They are only a couple bucks. Quote
Mach 5 Posted September 4, 2009 Author Report Posted September 4, 2009 Is this for the brake booster too? Thanks for the #. Here are some pics: Just drilled hole in oil pan for return. Im not going to run the oil cooler right now. turbo oil feed is T'd off from the pressure sensor and ready to be hooked up as soon as I get the rear manifold. Quote
mfewtrail Posted September 4, 2009 Report Posted September 4, 2009 Is this for the brake booster too? Thanks for the #. No. It's the same as the HVAC check valve near the driver's side strut tower though. Quote
Mach 5 Posted September 4, 2009 Author Report Posted September 4, 2009 How do I hook this check valve up? I just bought it today but confused as to how its hooked up. Does anyone have a picture of this? Quote
Addicted To Boost Posted September 4, 2009 Report Posted September 4, 2009 Right like this: The big port MUST stay open, and it should look exactly like that when hooked up correctly. Quote
Garrett Powered Posted September 4, 2009 Report Posted September 4, 2009 the upper part doesn't look like it was routed the same as on a tgp. the steel line should point right at the upper plenum nipple and kind of fish down the side of the block. you will only need a short rubber connector because the steel tip on the tube should actually slip inside the nipple on the plenum. Quote
mfewtrail Posted September 4, 2009 Report Posted September 4, 2009 Here's a general TGP vacuum diagram that also shows how the check valve is hooked up. and a picture of a stock check valve(which gets hooked up in the same manner. Quote
Mach 5 Posted September 5, 2009 Author Report Posted September 5, 2009 ok thanks now thats sorted. Now Im trying to locate the rear manifold-cast one- for the turbo setup and I can't find one. Does anyone have one for sale and will the one off of a fiero work instead of that cast piece? Quote
intern8tion9l Posted September 9, 2009 Report Posted September 9, 2009 glad to see this project coming is coming along Quote
Mach 5 Posted September 9, 2009 Author Report Posted September 9, 2009 Thanks. Its slowly coming along. Im waiting on a new rear manifold for the Turbo and am trying to figure out how to hook up the brake booster as it could damage it under boost. Quote
intern8tion9l Posted September 9, 2009 Report Posted September 9, 2009 I didn't do anything to my booster? Quote
Mach 5 Posted September 9, 2009 Author Report Posted September 9, 2009 So did you changed the fitting on the back of the intake manifold to accomadate the booster? Quote
intern8tion9l Posted September 10, 2009 Report Posted September 10, 2009 I just took whatever was on my 2.8 and put it on the 3.1t Quote
Mach 5 Posted September 10, 2009 Author Report Posted September 10, 2009 What did you do with the fuel injectors? I was considering using the na 3.1 ones but I think that they are a different flow rate. Quote
Addicted To Boost Posted September 11, 2009 Report Posted September 11, 2009 What did you do with the fuel injectors? I was considering using the na 3.1 ones but I think that they are a different flow rate. The LG5 fuel injectors are higher flow, approximately 22#. C302 Yellowtop injectors work great for this application- they are rated at 19#, but with our higher fuel pressure, they are about 22#. I've been running a set of yellowtops in my TGP for the last 4,000 miles, and its an excellent upgrade. Quote
Mach 5 Posted September 11, 2009 Author Report Posted September 11, 2009 Im going to check them out. I ordered a brand new rear manifold from GM. Should be here soon. Now Im going to try to locate the gaskets for the turbo and those fuel injectors. I got the plenum glass beaded today... pic below Quote

Mach 5 Posted September 11, 2009 Author Report Posted September 11, 2009 Really. I thought there was because they sell them for other turbos along with the flanges and stuff. Quote
Addicted To Boost Posted September 11, 2009 Report Posted September 11, 2009 Nope, there are no turbo gaskets from the factory. Quote
mfewtrail Posted September 11, 2009 Report Posted September 11, 2009 Ebay is pretty much the cheapest place for Ford 19lb injectors. There are often sets of brand new ones for $150-160 shipped and then there are reconditioned sets cheaper than that. Quote
intern8tion9l Posted September 12, 2009 Report Posted September 12, 2009 I grabbed a set of 22lb injectors from a junkyard from a n/a 3800. They apparently flow better than the stock lg5 ones. Cheap and easy to come by too Quote
Mach 5 Posted September 13, 2009 Author Report Posted September 13, 2009 How much and what year car/ engine? That seems like a good option. Then I don't have to wait to get them. Quote
GhrarhG Posted September 14, 2009 Report Posted September 14, 2009 I currently have a set for sale. Bought them used, but never used them. Supposed to be low mileage, came off an L36 so they're 22# injectors. 30+ shipping. Quote
Mach 5 Posted September 14, 2009 Author Report Posted September 14, 2009 They fit in the rail with the old multec setup? If so, sold... If you have paypal, please send a money request to Spoon93@gmail.com. If not send me an email at the same address and we will work something out. Shipping is to West Islip, NY 11795. Thanks! Quote

I snagged a set for my 3100 from a 96 or 97 Buick at a junkyard. Those ones will be the correct size to fit your rails Quote
