brianstarr58
I have a 95 Cutlass Convertible. My question is, is there a way to get the top up if the power top motor is weak or bad. How about if the battery is bad.
GP1138
Yes, it is somewhat hard to do, but if you're slow and methodical, just pull the top up little by little. Fluid will circulate and because the motor isn't doing it's job this will cause resistance, but it will not harm the top if you pull it up manually. Just watch that nothing gets hung up and stop if one side doesn't seem to want to move, see what's causing the problem. If it's just yourself, I find that standing on the rear floor using the rollbar as a fulcrum, it's easier to pull the top up and over your head that way. My top motor went bad just recently so if I want the luxury of going topless I have to do it manually.
brianstarr58
Thank you very much. My motor is not bad but the switch was acting a little funny the other day.
