joeld
I've got to replace the front mount on my 96 GP with 3100 engine. I've read a lot of the old threads on this, and looks like a few people advise not using "Anchor" brand name. I plan on using the OEM style, not the solid type. Any advise on name brand? Thanks Joel
xtremerevolution
I used the Anchor engine mounts. Those were the only ones available on rockauto for my regal. No problems so far, but I suppose time will tell. I paid $16 and $22 for the mounts, and ended up getting so dirty I looked black. But hey, it was cheap. joeld
I assume for that price the front mount was solid? Joel

88red4cyl
I would definitely recommend going with the solid... I special ordered one from Auto Zone, and it is soooo much nicer than the hydraulic mount was.. Plus, I'll never have to replace it again... Andrei, the mount you got was hydraulic (I just checked their site)... It's up to $28 now though..

It is a hydraulic in the front, and solid in the rear. front: ANCHOR Part # 2697 $21.79 rear: ANCHOR Part # 2676 $15.

White93z34
yes. I like solid mounts far more, I moved to one, no noticeable difference from a new hydraulic one, and its not gona split and puke fluid everywhere someday.
joeld
Well, I screwed up typing the year model, it's a 95! Sorry about that. OK, looks like you guys like the solid mount better. I just didn't want any vibration after replacing it. I'll check around at the parts houses here and see what they got! Thanks for the replies Joel

Thanks for the replies Joel Vibration from a solid mount is going to be negilible since it is solid rubber... Something like poly on the other hand, is where you get into the vibration issues... White93z34
yeah you have to dig deep some places to find the solid mount, funny thing is it is almost always cheaper.

joeld
I finally got some extra time and changed the motor mount. I did go with the solid type from Napa. I've only driven a few miles tonight, but seems to be very smooth at idle now with no vibration. Once again thanks for the replies!
