I need some advice, the wipers on my car are shot, and i want new ones, but i've never been happy with ANYTHING i've ever got, but i dont think ive ever gotten anything special

Also, the headlights on my car are awefull as well. I plan on re-finishing them when i find the time. However.

1. Does anyone have any reccomendations for wiper blades that they have been very pleased with their ability and lifetime?

2. Anyone have any bulb reccomendations? I know re-finishing the lenses will help some, but im in desperate need of some brighter bulbs.

Thanks guys!

I have always used anco wiper blades with great results and have lasted me about a year or so, and i even use them in the winter.

As for bulbs i have 6000k HID's so i'm no help there.

i stand by the rain-x wipers and will not get anything less than that. I usually hold out till parts stores are doing the buy 1 get 1 free sale and stock up. I think mine have been on my car over a year now.

Do the E36 headlight mod like me. I dont go for any gimmicky bulbs

hid retrofit

/headlight arguement

Is there a write up on this? How easy/difficult is it and how costly?

On another note, i have had good experiences with RainX...so i need to get some more, would combining that with their brand wiper blades equate to a good idea?

Also, if anyone has links to the bulbs they run so i can refernce them that would be great. I really appreciate all your help guys! My headlights have been bugging me alot lately, and tonight in the rain coming home from work i felt blind, i had to check twice to make sure my lights were even on because they were that dim.

How easy was this? I remember seing you post pictures and stuff but did you ever do any write ups on it?

I'm really into re-searching my best options, i dont want to waste a ton of money on tying a few different things, i want to make sure i make a good decision and get good results to end my misery with this crap.

ebay HID retrofit. Plug and play 9006 style bulbs and ballasts.

These are probably the easiest for straight up brighter lights. They are fairly low on quality, so don't waste money on an expensive kit if it is from eBay.

Rain X wipers have worked wonders on all of my cars so far. I recommend them, they aren't usually expensive either.

I use Rain-X and Anco/Rain-X wipers, depending on what is a better price at the time.

In fact, I apply rain-x about once a month to all exterior glass and mirrors. Not sure if it really necessary this often, but I do it anyways.

Every Rainx wiper blade I've ever used bounced on the windshield and annoyed the hell out of me. The cheap anco wiper blades from walmart have given me the best results. I've also found that since our wiper arms have the pin type connection and not the hook that the anco stay in place better and are easier to remove. The others that come with the pin adapter for the hook style always are a pia to get on and often fall off.

the answer is

Triple edge at Wal-mart only.

They are silcone and they apply a coating that causes the water to bead.

I have just replaced them for the second time in 100k on my 00 daytona.

My 1993 has the same set that I installed in 1998 with about 50 k on them.

My wife had a 00 escort that we would replace them every 30k-ish usually because she broke them in snow with a scraper

Check it out......dont buy them online (buy them at walmart)

Yes. I have Rain-X wiper blades on my car that are still great after almost two years (the first wiper blades fell apart shortly after I got the car).

9006 bulbs are what you currently have, are you looking for an improvement?

As for my headlight swap, it was fairly simple and took me 30 minutes to figure out and about 2 months for me to convince myself to put a couple hours into my car for a mod i still wasnt so sure about. I got the headlights from someone selling them locally on bimmerforums.com I think i got them for $40.

Yes i am looking for improvement.

Here is what im looking at, they're supposed to be HID-like bulbs, will i actually gain any sort of improvement from them? I thought this was what the other guys were talking about, but i could be mistaken?

i'm running silverstar ultras(meant for highs) as low beams and silverstar coolblue(?) (they have a slight blue tint to them) as highs.

blind the shit out of me in the daylight. i can't imagine the contrast at night.

i think the monte has the same wiper blades on it since a oil change from valvoline in 2001(somewhere around 105,000 miles)... still work great, i wish i knew what they were.
