shuck Posted August 11, 2009 Report Posted August 11, 2009 I'm about ready to pull my engine/tranny. What do I use for the rear hoist point? There is a black metal bracket where the alternator was that has a loop in it, but it hardly looks strong enough. When I try to hoist it that way, the bracket starts to bend, which makes me nervous. Where should I attach my chain to the rear of the engine? Car is a 97 Cutlass Supreme with the 3100 and auto tranny. Thanks, Ryan Quote
19Cutlass94 Posted August 11, 2009 Report Posted August 11, 2009 Thats the bracket you use. Put the alternator and brace back on, and it will be more than strong enough. Quote

Brian P Posted August 11, 2009 Report Posted August 11, 2009 x3 make sure you're using an equalizer and the chain (or whatever you're using) is positioned so it's vertical. Any little bit of angle will cause that bracket to bend. Quote
