Quick question about HUD/non-HUD GPs

Would a 1998 GP GTP with all options except HUD be wired for HUD - similar to the older 90s cars were?

 

Any quick way to check??

Yeah I'm pretty sure they're wired for it, but I'm not positive.

It's hit or miss from what I understand for the '97 & up body style. Some have found their cars were prewired for them, while others had to do a custom install.

Most cars up to 01 are Prewired, but after that they arent at all... Best way to check is to put the trim piece off and take the 4 screws holding the cluster in and look behind there... Thats where the connector will be sitting

Is there any way to tell what harness it might be? An up-level harness would include what options that a pbase didn't?

My guess would be things like the heated seat switch, digital DIC, CD player. Things like that maybe.

Except the car I pulled this from has cloth seats that aren't heated and no sun roof lol - very oddly optioned!

The guy never got back to me yet - I might shoot him off an email of where to look for that harness.
