dhs1223
Hello: I am hoping that there are some members in the Oshawa, Durham area that can recommend a good shop to have some work done on my car. I have the 3.4 DOHC engine and it is missing on one or two cylinders. I have changed the plugs and valve cover gasket on the front side of the engine, but I am not able to address the back side myself. Hoping that someone in the area can help with it or with a recommendation of a good shop. Thank you in advance.
CSI_MuNkY
Captain Ficho might be able to help you, he lives in Scarborough... I will send him a text message and tell him to come online. Jamie

GOT2B GM
I'm in Kitchener and can help if you make it down this way. Rear plugs are cake on the LQ1, easier than a 3x00 IMO
dhs1223
It is not so much changing the plugs as changing out the valve cover gasket and "O" rings. I believe this involves removing the intake plenum, etc. This is where I become hesitant to take it on myself. Thanks
GOT2B GM
not a big deal. Drain the coolant from the rad Remove the air box and hose. Remove "3.4 DOHC" injector cover Disconnect the throttle and cruise cables Unplug EGR, TPS, IAC, MAP. Unhook PCV. unbolt and remove EGR Remove vacuum lines by MAP and PCV. Remove two plenum mount nuts on the back of the plenum by the firewall Remove plenum bolts on top of plenum. Loosen hose clamp on 3" piece of 3/4 heater hose under the throttle body Remove brake booster vacuum hose. Remove plenum.
Artemis
It's pretty easy to take off the rear valve cover, i've done it several times. Where are you located in Oshawa? Im just in the Beaches of Toronto, 25-30 mins from you I'm guessing. If you want, I'm sure we can arrange something
