one piece brickyard spoiler

this may seem like a dumb question, but how does this attach if its only one piece? it obviously hangs over the trunk when the trunks open, so does the whole thing go up with the trunk or what?

 

dumb question i know, but all the brickyards i've seen are 3 piece... thanks

Yup that's definitely not what is usually called a "brickyard" spoiler.

Yes, that is not a brickyard spoiler, but they did make one piece brickyard spoilers. 1995 was the only year of the three piece spoiler. My sister's 96 Z34 does have the one piece brickyard. I'm not sure how many years they kept making that spoiler.

 

The former wing pieces of the three piece are part of a longer main spoiler on a one piece and they hang just slightly above the quarter panel, so there is a tiny gap when the trunk is down. It looks a lot nicer than having the three gapped pieces. Here's some googled images:
