kfahn
ok, don't automatically spout to me, search for it. I did. I am trying to find a detailed explanation of how and what to do to change an engine from a 3100 to a 3400. I know that there are variations of both engines, and i am just asking for any explanation that can be given. Thanks!
The Burning Rom
Did you try looking at the 60* v6 forums? I know there are quite a bit of topics dealing with this. http://www.60degreev6.com

kfahn
i also was wondering about that. Has anyone done this and recorded specific gains ie. dyno sheet?
GPRACER
1995 3100 in a w-car has 160 hp, 2002 3400 in a u-van has 185 hp, so 25 hp is a lot of gain for a relatively easy swap, just take out the old engine and put in the new.. no other major differences. You don't even have to change the pcm, although an updated calibration would be advisable.
Dannymik
Well I have a 3100 in my Cutlass and my wife has a 3400 in her Alero. Believe me when you can feel the difference. I imagine that her car could be lighter, but the gain is very nice. I guess it boils down to how much it would cost. Now the 3800 would be in my interest 8) !!!
