My 93 grand prix SE has a dead spot when I first take off, I hit the gas, it doesn't go right away, but it kicks in. What is the problem? Vacuum leak? How can I find it?

no it is just when i take off slowly or normal, for example when i go out of my driveway, or taking off from a stoplight. It's not the kind of thing that happens when I floor it.

Most likely a vacuum leak...I"d look for obvious leaks up top, but the most common place I've found when I've had a car behaving like yours is the vacuum modulator for the transmission, driver's side, front of the case.

I've had the same issue before with bad spark plug wires for what it's worth. At night, you could visibly see them arcing on everything under the hood. Other than the light dead spot at takeoff, there were no other symptoms other than a very light hiccup w/ the converter locked(barely noticeable).

My tranny jerks the car really bad when it shifts if i'm accelerating faster, and i need a new screen and a modulator someone told me so maybe there could be a leak in the modulator like you said
