sup all hopin someone can help me. have an 88 cutlass supreme 2.8, sitting in park it idles fine, but when you drive...and then come to a stop the dash goes out some or all of the dummy lights come on and wants to stall, if i give it gas it stays runnin. sometimes i notice the dash is flickerin slightly to me sounds like something with alternator or a bad ground somewhere. any ideas what i should be lookin for? im at work now or i would of tried searching for it. but id like to fix it once i get home, sorry if its been touched on before.

cheers

first do a test on the battery with the car runnin, in park, see what volts you get. Then have some one put it in drive and hold the break down and measure the volts on the battery then. If the reading are good 13.7V+, then its prolly not a charging problem. Your IAC might be clogged up, causin a fluctuating idle while in drive

I would also check the fuses in the glove compartment and in the engine bay to make sure they are tight.

Check the wiring on the auxilliary post (positive terminal next to the fuel pump relay/fuse). It's held down by a nut and make sure that is tight.
