Chip
My dashboard idiot light is intermittantly blinking low coolant. There is no same scenario that causes it to blink either. Sometime it is highway, sometimes at idle. The coolant is not indeed low. Where is the sensor located on this 3.1? Anyone have similar experience and find a solution? Thanks
BXX
Pop the hood, on your left hand side on the side of the radiator, the sensor is there.. It probes into the radiator.. Remove it and clean it.. Its a reed type switch and is just gunked up..
DavidHowell3633
Mine is the same as yours and so is my sons. We have 94 and 95 Cutlasses with 3100s. I keep a few sensors on the shelf that are clean just for this purpose. Just swap them out whenever you need to drain he rad.
Chip
That's exactly what it was. Thanks for the dead-on advice. The switch was all gooped up. Cleaned it with electrical contact cleaner and its not giving a false reading anymore.
