rudefyet
I'm looking to see if anyone could post 1/4 mile times and 0-60 times for a mostly stock Grand Prix....it's a 90 of course...i'm just curious...what i'd run with my air intake and if there is anything i can take out to reduce to weight and possibly gimme some better acceleration

They might have it for you but yea that takes some energy.
mfewtrail
about low to mid 17's on a decent day...my cousins 92 w/ the 3.1 did a 17.65 and a 17.66(one run hot, one run after cooling down for a long time)..in 85* weather+ and high humidity that was w/ 2.4 sec 60ft times(not to be mistaken w/ 0-60 )..anyways I believe the car did 69mph in the 1/8 mile in 11.2 seconds(IIRC..I'll take a look at the picture of his slip I have somewhere on the computer to confirm this later)...so probably mid 10 second times from 0-60 if I had to take a guess  EDIT: I think the 1/4 mile speed was close to 77mph..so the 3.1's make their power in the low ranges...not gaining a whole lot from 1/8 to 1/4 stock...lots of stuff can be done to change that though 8)
Guest TurboSedan
how about stock times for a '90 Grand Prix with a 3.1/Getrag 282 5-speed? it's gotta be better than with a 4T60..... joshua
mfewtrail
not sure on the getrag question, I would assume it to be a pretty good difference in the getrags favor due to the better final drive ratio and less weight......maybe someone out there has ran theirs????? gp90se
my 90 ran a 16.7 without an air filter, strait pipe into hollow stock mufflers and an empty (no spare tire or any extra junk inside)r car, its got the origianal 4t60 in it and 2 my knowlage its the fastest time possible with a stock 3.1 mpfi in a GP ask me why it dont run anymore =( -Jeff

tgpguy21
Mfewtrail, what year is your GP???? looks pretty nice. alot of people say they dont like that kit on GPs because it supposedly make it look like a rice rocket.
mfewtrail
Mfewtrail, what year is your GP???? looks pretty nice. alot of people say they dont like that kit on GPs because it supposedly make it look like a rice rocket. the white one is a 93, the silver one is a 01, you can see more pictures at my "www" tab...the red car on the "misc pics" page is dkorinko's here on the forum, the black TGP is my father's latest car, the rent's own two othe W's besides that....and for anyone that says that kit looks like a rice rocket, I dont' see how unless you throw a shitty aluminum wing on there or something, the kit looks decent to me..anyways, they're just jealous of my BYP kit that weighs less , the 93 is a moving project at the moment w/ a junkyard motor/tranny in it that I snagged cheaply...hoping to be done w/ it mechanically by the end of this year, then it gets new paint(nothing special, but I might change to a different shade of white and the red pin stripe is gonna be GONE!!!!..thinking of having a black pin stripe in its place, but I'm undecided as of now. BTW, I believe the best looking w-bodies were the TGP's....I like the headlights on them better than the mini-quads, I'm not changing kits on my car by any means, I'm keeping it stock looking for the most part but w/ different paint and wheels...the exhuast tips are the only thing really appearance related that I have on the car, they actually changed the sound a bit too, my other slash cut tips made a wierd ass whistling at high speeds, these sound clearer/cleaner and look better. And on an off-topic note, my top secret volvo project car is gonna whoop all your asses! edit: adding two pics.. c'mon, it's a stock car for crying out loud, I'll kick anyones ass that calls this a rice rocket ..j/k I don't really care what people say here's the volvo that's going to whoop your asses! I had a turn down style tip for the exhaust on the volvo a while back(custom 2.5'' mandrel bent from the stock 2.5'' downpipe back w/ 1 one chamber flowmaster on it..it was a turbo'd car so I was going for little restriction...4cylinder w/ flowmaster = raspy as hell) ...my bro kept nagging me to trade him for the turndown tip so I slapped that POS one on that which got hacked off shortly afterwards..I'll have more pics of the completely gutted car later, scraping more of the carpet tar out of it at the moment. Guest TurboSedan
And on an off-topic note, my top secret volvo project car is gonna whoop all your asses! hahaha, i have a trick up my sleeve too - my GTS will whoop your Volvo! j/k it'll have a full JRB 2.5" mandrel bent exhaust soon and i already have a 2.5" Ultra Flow muffler for it, 1g DSM BOV, and a grainger for boost control. hoping for mid/high 14's!! iTurbo has Ultra Flow mufflers on his TD's and they sound great IMO. he has some really good quality sound clips on my website, but it's curently down at the moment and i'm not sure why (my other brother runs it). i have pics and info of the car on the Turbo Dodge '89 Lebaron GTS registry page here: http://www.telusplanet.net/public/nitroacd/gts/ if anyone is really bored and wants to read about a rare *cough cough* Chrysler *cough cough* Intercooled Turbo 5-speed sedan. my car is the 2nd one down on the page, the pics were taken before i bought the car with about 5 months of dust on it. the interior is practically perfect and after a car wash it looks great now. i've also replaced the front air dam (spoiler) and that made it look alot better too. pic: that's a cool Volvo btw - how fast is it gonna be? joshua

I'm going to wire up all the lights and whatnot, then I have to figure out how to get my abs and power steering to work once everything is back together, shouldn't be too bad. I'm going to try and find a complete mustang w/ good motor as a another parts car and take everything in the engine bay and swap it over with custom engine and transmission mounts, I'm also planning to utilize a T5 5speed tranny, hopefully my donor car will also have a good transmission it in, I plan to re-condition the motor and rebuild it if necessary, put a different camshaft in and possibly different heads or just have the stockers ported for now. Later I plan to modify it to all ends, planning on some shorty headers(whichever will fit) and then a custom exhaust of which I have most parts to make. Anyways, I'll probably be posting about it in the "whatever" section later on this year or as I soon as I make some progress, might post some pics up afterwhile of the gutted interior and whatnot
Reapper
well it not the same setup but my 95' Cutlass ran a 16.8 with me not being about to get off the line right and 2 10 in speakers, amp, cap and other stuff in the trunk. But my guess is you should be able to do that no problem. Also been told that 100lbs is worth about 10th of a sec. SO thats my guess.
