outatime
Does anybody know if these are interchangeable on the buick regal. I have a 96 regal and I bought a 94 regal gs and was going to use the air compressor from my 94 to fix my 96. Autozone shows a diffrent part number for each car but they are both 3.8 n/a . hotrodolds
The difference is that most likely the '94 uses R12, and the '96 uses R134a. The engines are different, too. The '94 is a Series 1, and the '96 is probably a Series 2.

Crazy K
94 is r134 It is supposed to be a mid-year change. if you look at the compressor, I think the 96 uses the different type of quick connect fitting that is sideways, where the 94 would mount flush on the back.
