Ok, the w-body oil filter adapter is straight and sticks out further (and a little higher) than the H body. With the correct adapter you would have been able to use the correct mount that goes under the pan. I think you did alot more work here than you needed to my friend.

If you are going to weld in a new unit, then you should be ableto fix the off set.

using the stock placement you end up with the left side of the engine forward of the right side.

so far so good. made this up lastnight lol

Why are you deleting the A/c?

well i think someone took off with the compressor, had it here at the shop and now its vanished. also it wont fit now with the braces i welded for that mount, the old motor didn't have a/c either. i figure its a convertible and the girls who are worried about their hair can just suck it up and deal with the wind lol! And this Ontario air really doesnt get that hot. maybe only a week or 2 out of the year so i re-used this pulley. next is the power steering lines... any idea if there is one i should use? I was going to make some if that wasn't the case

Pressure hose from a 98-9 3800 Monte should work. Return hose you can use 3/8 stock.

IIRC, I used the stock 2000 regal hose just cut down a bit.

right on guys, thanks. Ended up using a 96 regal line, bolted right up. bypasses the P/S cooler lines and ran it straight to the pump.. I tried to shorten the one i had from the 3/4 but no such luck... broke the crimping tool too! lol.. Motors coming along nicely... Now onto the wiring... Couldn't get a hold of a harness from a monte or alike.. apparently no one around here keeps them after they remove the motor. Cant find parts for this anywhere local! The yard around here say "we don't have anything that old".. ah well... The fun begins merging the 2 harnesses together... i dont have the key for the other car.. there was none, but according to Mitchel Its an old school pass key system so it shouldnt be hard to bypass it. Spent the whole weekend Polishing and Wire brushing every piece, still a few more pieces to clean up.. here's some pics anyway of the progress...

I think im getting too excited lol

And a side note.. i fund the supercharger leaking (very minimal) out of the bolt on the end of the pulley.. so i re-tefloned the bolt but while inserting it.. it broke.. anyone know if it needs to be a vented bolt or can i just fill it with a generic one?

  • 1 month later...

So i finally aquired some more parts to hopefully make this a little easier. Visited ottawa on the weekend, got a new center console cover and cup holder, glove box latch and hadard switch lol Also took 2 front axles, upper motor mount w/bracket, and pcm from a 98 GTP, Am i in good shape here? i tried to get ahold of Brian Teel from that site and his email is not valid anymore i guess. email wouldnt go thru. anyhoo, the plugs are the same on the H body harness, so im gonna re-pin accordingly. only thing is im still not out anymore money for these parts if they dont work, i just dont want to tear apart the axles unless im sure theyre going to work, i was told that 2000 gtp axles will work but the 98's may be different... any advice would be much appreciated

thanks
