Hi i just replace the ac compressor on my 92 cutlass supreme. I put in 2 cans of the redtek r12a. The compressor comes on and gets cold but does not cycle on and off? What could cause this and is this bad for the car/ ac system?

Thanks,

Matt.

Okay good to know. I thought all compressors cycled. How does a variable displacement compressor work? and what does WOT mean (Only time it would cycle is WOT it'll cut off?)

wot throttle means wide open throttle. it kicks the compressor off so it doesnt consume the power youre trying to use. its a great thing to have, i wish alot of other cars did this, meaning 4 cylinders.
