joeld
Hey guys! Well, hot weather is here so naturally the AC goes out. I've got to replace the compressor and have been looking around for a good price and decent quality. I found a site that looks good-Discount AC Parts- but wanted to know if anyone had purchased any parts from them? Any opinions? Thanks, Joel

joeld
1994 GP, 3.1 engine. Low pressure is bouncing from approx 40psi to 65psi. High pressure is bouncing from approx 150psi to 200psi. No cool air at all. Compressor clutch is engaged, fans are working. Also there is some noise from the compressor, nothing extreme but louder than it was. Crazy K
my compressor has been louder lately. It also stopped blowing cold air. I figured it was the compressor. no? not necessarily. could just need more freon, and sometimes compressor noise if due to the clutch, which can be adjusted.... basically, try to figure out what is making the noise, and add freon as well. Garrett Powered
so that constant squeek,squeek,squeek... sound may possibly be eliminated by adjusting the clutch? how is this done? then I need to find some r-12. by buddy might still have a can of it. LOL is the sound present when the ac is on or off? or both? remove the belt and turn the a/c pulleyby hand. try to determine the exact circumstances or issues which make the noise. xtremerevolution
a rubbing compressor clutch is a very common issue and does make a squealing noise. as ken said, it can be adjusted. my fiance's sister's L36 regal has that issue.
