Trailing Arm Bolts

I was just wondering if anyone knows the code for the trailing arm bolts, apparently GM discontinued them and I want to have a set handy in case I need to cut the ones I have off.

x2... I used some from the hardware store, took the old one and matched up a decent set, works just fine.

What grade bolts did you use?

I was told to use grade 8 SAE bolts for it, but do you guys know the actual code (like M8) for the bolts? I would prefer getting them before I take the arms off as I will be about 30 minutes or so away from the nearest hardware store where the work is being done and I'm not sure if I would have another vehicle to use either.

Factory bolts are grade 10.9. Not sure how far that is from grade 8, but I know for a fact you can't find grade 10.9 in a hardware store for our kind of bolts. I used grade 8 for my control arms when I did the poly bushings, but that's only because the ones I ordered online were the wrong size.

You can order grade 10.9 bolts online if you want to keep manufacturer specs, but as long as you're using no lower than grade 8, you should be ok.

You can get grade 10.9 bolts custom made at boltdepot.com. They're not going to be as cheap as the grade 8 bolts in a hardware store, but they will be immensely cheaper than OE replacement bolts, if they were even available.

Well I got the bolts from Brafasco and just waiting for them to come in, grade 10.9 as well. What do the bolts need to be torqued to?
