mfewtrail
http://www.motorswap.org/ should have a general swap writeup to give you and idea of what all is involved.
95 vert
Not near as hard as you would think. Let me know if I can help.
douellette
Not near as hard as you would think. Let me know if I can help. that came out nice, i was thinkin about doing the series 1 engine but the 220-225hp version of it. what can i find that in? and do i have to do any modifications to the motor mounts or any welding? 95 vert
I did have to "trim" the firewall (about a 4x6 inch spot) to clear the exhaust downpipe. Everything else was bolt in. I used a 00 GTP drivetrain. I modified the axles to fit the Cutlass and used a 99 Lumina 3800 harness which I had to move a few wires around at the bulkhead connector to mate it to the Cutlass. I would do a series II. Your car already has the OBD II diagnostic connector which makes it a little easier to wire up and ease of plugging a scan tool in to check codes, etc.

douellette
yeah i read somewhere that it was quite a bit easier to swap in a s1 instead of a s2. is it actually worth using a s2 over an s1?
Night Fury
I would imagine so....
RobertISaar
is it actually worth using a s2 over an s1? very much so... not only is every S1 getting close to ridiculous mileage and needing rebuilds, S2 had better EVERYTHING: fuel economy/power/emissions/weight/reliablity. now coming from someone who HATES 3.8 motors, the S2 is a giant leap forward compared to a S1...
