LuckoftheGTP
Is there a way to tip the engine foward? I need to check the down pipe for holes. Is there anything i need to be awair of before doing this?
RobertISaar
disconnect the dogbones, and ratchet stap it forward... i don't think you'll see much more of the downpipe though
LuckoftheGTP
OK. the problem is.. The car is loud near the engine and at about 2500 RPM, the floor vibrates. Also my car after being in O/D for a couple of minutes will drop out of O/D. I heard that might be because of too much heat. I.E. thinking that there is a hole in the down pipe. Crazy K
too much heat? this heat wouldn't be from the downpipe, but rather the transmission getting too hot. What year is this car again? I've said that a tranny cooler would be very benefical to add to our cars...
GOT2B GM
disconnect the dog bone and park the car facing downwards on a set of ramps or a hill. The weight of the car on the park pin will roll the engine forward.
5speedz34
IMO: 3.4's are not made to be tilted forward unlike the 2.8/3.1 cars. You can do it, but I think its a PITA to do and detrimental to the mounts.

Trust me, I tore perfectly good stock mounts doing this, and weakened the hell outta my new solid mounts when I had to do it again (dont ask...) LuckoftheGTP
The car is a 94. I was considering a trans cooler but I have no clue where to put it there is no room between the exh. manifold and the fans. Is there any other reason why my trany get hot like that? Is there any other reason why my trany get hot like that? supposedly the trannys start to slip a bit as older??? the torque converter by itself generates alot of heat.... they make aftermarket tranny coolers that mount in front of the radiator and condenser. I would mount one on the passenger side and run the lines through the radiator support, linking to the cooling lines that currently go to the internal cooler in the radiator... my first attempt was a modification of a 91-93 dohc aux tranny cooler:
