GP4U2NV
Some may know I am doing a rear coil over with some 2nd gen parts. I have finally been able to prove that the 2ng gen lats and spindle rods are NOT 1 inch longer. They are 1/2 inch on center. I have pictures that I will need to load so that you can see. To prove this I took the one and put a bolt through the stock unit and the 2nd gen. Then laid them down. I show that it is a little less than 1/2 inch. This is for both the lateral and the spindle. Noted: the lateral and spindle rods are different lenght.
Crazy K
good to know. QUESTION: can the slightly longer second gen lateral links be used with the first gen leaf spring? or must you go with coilovers?
GP4U2NV
QUESTION: can the slightly longer second gen lateral links be used with the first gen leaf spring? or must you go with coilovers? hum, no one has done it that I know of. Makes sence that it would require the coil over.

Would make sense as I was told that 04+ Ws have longer lateral links.. And WTF is a spindle rod?? We have 2 lateral links and 1 trailing arm.. Ima gonna have to investigate this next time im at the JY, I will just rip sets off.. I measured appx 3/4-1" difference on both lateral links from my 96CS to the Gen2's I grabbed.. GP4U2NV
Spindle Rod is the front rod The rear is lateral. This is GM's terminology in the 97-03 W-Body.

Dark Ride
I have taken pictures that I will post in the next few days that show that the 2nd gen lateral arms are about 3/8 -1/2 inch longer than stock lateral arms.
CSI_MuNkY
Lateral links - Go from center of car to spindle (4) Trailing arms - Go from rocker to the spindle (2) Just thought i would clear that up Ken, I think if you went with longer lateral links you would have to either do a coil over conversion, or find a leaf spring company that can make you one long enough to make up the difference.
