Devin
I haven't done the brakes on my Impala yet. Any special tools required or is it a straight forward job?
Andrew
really straight forward if you've done brakes before. sockets, c-clamp, breaker bar. and HI !! fellow western WA member.
3pt1lumina
Super easy... I think they were 14mm and 15mm sockets for the calipers and the brackets.
digitaloutsider
should be 15 for all of them, but it's been a long while since I touched the Regal.
arod0079
So I'll take it that there isn't a special tool required on the rears right? Sorry for the thread jack.

Devin
Thanks for the C clamp comment. I would have forgotten and had to leave in the middle of the job! I added a coat hanger to the tools list. FYI 15 up front, 14 in the rear. The rear compressed just fine. Much easier than my SHO. Now she has new brakes, rotated tires, new turn lamps and a bath! Devin
Well it appears that I missed the memo about changing brake pads doesn't make one's e-brake hold any better. Is there a manual way of adjusting it? The last time I tried something like that I had drums and shoes! Currently when I set the ebrake on a hill I roll back until the tranny catches. Pull the rotor off and adjust the adjuster.. Looks much like a typical brake drum adjuster screw.... Keep using your e-brake should actually keep it adjusted... Just they dont like to work 100% when they arent new..
Devin
How do I know how much to adjust it with the rotor and caliper off?
BXX
How do I know how much to adjust it with the rotor and caliper off? Adjust until the rotor fits on kinda snug... Just like you would adjust drum brakes
