GP1138
So Sunday morning at the meet I went to put my top down and the down side of the switch has stopped working. Up works fine, but it seems to not want to go down. Is there a fuse I could have blown? Do these switches go bad often? How can I test the wiring? ManicMechanic
I would suspect the switch. Take a test light and probe the wires at the pump while someone is pushing the switch.
GP1138
It's not the switch. Today I went out and put up the top and sat there after it was up and hit the down rocker a bunch of times and heard the mechanism clicking back there, then after a few clicks (kind of like a bad starter solenoid) it actually started working. I let it go down and then put it back up and it did it again, just a clicking for a few presses until it seemed to grab and go down... any thoughts? ManicMechanic
I don't remember if there's a relay back there...There might just be one. I'll look in the shop manual later.
Crazy K
there is a relay, but I too would have to look up how it is wired.
