Sidewinder
I was wondering if anyone here has heard of the company TRW, or if anyone had any experience and if they are any good? I need to replace both front Tie-Rods and both front lower ball joints to get my car to pass safety so I can be the legal owner. The TRW parts are all on sale so, let me know if you know anything. Also, I need to replace the front brakes as well, what type of brake pads should I get and are powerslots worth getting or should I just get regular rotors? Crazy K
TRW is one of the prime companies that makes OEM parts for cars. Out seatbelts and the RKE modules and remotes are made by them. TRW parts are one of the better brands to use. as for slotted... well... there has been a recent thread on rotors, and some members like R1 concept rotors. find the thread! 5speedz34
TRW is right up there with MOOG or SPICER
Sidewinder
Cool I will probably order those provided the shop lets me! Edit: I think I'm going to pick up ceramic pads as well for my brake upgrade and get the powerslots. I need them sooner rather than later the R1s will take too long. Sidewinder
Ok so I got the parts today and will be installing them all tomorrow! YAY FOR A STABLE FRONT END! Its really started making a lot of noise and I can feel the instability it is causing in the wheels. I also picked up Wagner front rotors and semi-metallic brake pads, is Wagner any good? White93z34
make sure your inner tie rods are in good shape too before installing outers or else it is wasted effort

Sidewinder
Well I got the TRW and brake parts installed and WOW, what a difference in the steering feel and brake feel. I was a little bit annoyed I had to spend the money but now I am glad I did! I have another issue now though coming from the front end I was wondering if you guys could help me with. I'm not sure if any of the front steering parts have been replaced for a good while, I know the ball joints where done 100,000 kms ago-ish. However the front end is still making noise, and I've been doing a bit of research to try and figure out what it is. There a metal rattling sound when I go over bumps but I'm pretty sure that's one or both of the sway bars. I plan on putting the bigger ones from my Monte with poly bushings on at some point so I'm not worried about that right now. That aside though, there is a low clicking/knocking noise coming from the front end that happens when I turn corners, when I am braking at low speeds and when I am accelerating. It does seems to go away at higher speed but my car is also pretty loud so its hard to tell. I've done a little bit of research and it seems to point towards a cv joint. Anyone know what this may be? Or even what the other noise may be for that matter? Now that I got the new brakes and ball joints I'd like to eliminate any other problems. digitaloutsider
Trivia note: TRW made a lot of the Ferrari steering racks. If Ferrari trusts them, I would too
