88red4cyl Posted May 29, 2009 Report Posted May 29, 2009 The last couple months, the clear coat on the drivers rear fender (up top by the trunk), has started peeling off... As one may guess, it looks horrible on a maroon car... I was wondering if there are any solutions as far as removing the clear coat that has begun peeling and maybe spraying on some new.. I know the ultimate solution is a repaint, but I do not want to sink that kind of money into a car we are going to be getting rid of this fall... I just want it to look better than it currently does.. I can get pics if necessary. Thanks guys! Quote
Venom Posted May 29, 2009 Report Posted May 29, 2009 Honestly Im no bodyman but you probably wont be able to get away with sanding off the clear and respraying it. Ultimately you will just have to get the whole car repainted to fix that issue, which unfortunately is very common on GM cars from the early to mid 90s. Quote

Garrett Powered Posted May 30, 2009 Report Posted May 30, 2009 its a glass jar that screws on to the bottom of an aerosol can top. there is a pickup tube that goes down into the jar and it works just like a regular can of spraypaint. you could spray clear through it if you wanted. it will have orangepeel finish but wetsand and buff it out. http://store.fastcommerce.com/cat_PaintProsUSA_ff80808117344aab01175581fc276445.html?gclid=COj1xef54poCFQwxawodFnGTAQ Quote
