barryc Posted September 3, 2003 Report Posted September 3, 2003 On my 95 Grand Prix GTP, I've got a strange problem. A quick history may help... About 4 months ago, my interior lights started staying on all the time. After checking what I could, I guessed a bad door pin switch. Before I got it nailed down, the problem went away. Can't really diagnose what isn't happening, so no further action taken. Tonight, after replacing a battery that was 100% dead (which now I know what caused, obviously) as similar but different problem appears. With everything closed/off, SOME of the lights are on, and are pretty dim. These are the map lights on the bottom of the mirror, and the ones in the rear of the doors that light the back seat area around the legs. If I do anything that normally causes the interior lights to come on (opening a door or using the dash switch), all the others come on at normal brightness but the "misbehaving" lights go off. Any ideas? This is driving me nuts! Quote
GnatGoSplat Posted September 3, 2003 Report Posted September 3, 2003 Sounds like a bad ground, but does the theater dimming work? This is where the interior lights gradually go dark in steps. Quote
barryc Posted September 26, 2003 Author Report Posted September 26, 2003 Theater dimming works, but I think I've found a short in the flex wire boot between the passenger door and the pillar. We'll see shortly. Quote
