LuckoftheGTP Posted May 13, 2009 Report Posted May 13, 2009 Are they the same block? Other than the 67 having a SC, other differances? Pros and Cons of both. Thank you all. Quote
digitaloutsider Posted May 13, 2009 Report Posted May 13, 2009 L36 block has different pistons and cam as well as a higher compression ratio. (9.5:1) Not sure if the crank is the same. Quote
Andrew Posted May 14, 2009 Report Posted May 14, 2009 if we are talking a shortblock (no heads), the cam and crank are the same. L67's have different rods(stronger maybe?) and lower compression pistons, which makes them safer to boost. Quote
Dark Ride Posted May 14, 2009 Report Posted May 14, 2009 The cams are the same? Wouldn't they want a different cam for Boost? Quote
Andrew Posted May 14, 2009 Report Posted May 14, 2009 you would think. If you look up the cam on GMPD, its says "all models 3.8, 97-04" Quote
jerry455 Posted May 15, 2009 Report Posted May 15, 2009 i believe the rods are floating pins instead of pressed pins. Quote
