GPX
I've had a creaking noise up for a while when I turn. More in one direction than the other. I had it up on jack-stands over the weekend and turned the wheel--sounds like it's coming from the rack. What is it?
Brian P
could be the struts or spring mount/bearings. It's gonna be hard to tell without getting under the car and checking for worn parts.
Leadfoot
Grease all your tie rod ends, etc. I have seen this many times before. Could be the rack, but I would put money on tie rod ends being dry. Sometimes it can also be the top of your strut being dry. This is a little harder to get at and lube, but its not too bad. WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!! I finally got my Luger Luber working and lubed the tie-rod ends (front and rear ) and that took care of it. Thank goodness. Plus put new spring slider pads in rear--no more squeaks anywhere!
SrMichi
Where exactly are the different points on the car that should be lude up frequently?
Brian P
This thread is full of confusion what tie rods in the rear did you lube again? Â Stock, there's no true lube points on the car. All joints are sealed and maintenance free. Replacement joints, however, usually aren't and will require periodic lubing.

Replacement joints, however, usually aren't and will require periodic lubing. So I have replacement tie-rod ends? I say that because there def were grease nips (I like that cuz it sounds kinda dirty, and they were VERY dirty). Why would they make a maintenance-free part that wears out? Or did I just answer my own question?
Brian P
Yeah, they were replaced at one point then.
