mrl390 Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 I just installed my strut tower braces. Here are some pics for you guys. These braces are from member Cully. I cleaned the front one up and sprayed it before I installed it. Im real happy with them. Thanks again Cully. Quote
GOT2B GM Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 who made the rear bar with the heim joints? Quote
GOT2B GM Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 And on a side note, a 96 / 97 Z34 would make a great DD. I've always liked those cars. My Mom had a black 96 Z34 that I used to beat on when I was 17 / 18 yrs old. Quote
mrl390 Posted May 9, 2009 Author Report Posted May 9, 2009 The rear bar is from HELD motorsports I believe. A real great design IMO. My Z is awesome for daily driving. Its big and comfortable to drive, quiet on the road (except the exhaust lol) and it has plenty of power. Ive surprised many other people who try to race it. It gets beat on its fair share but I try and make up for it by taking good care of the car. The only thing that sucks is that it gets terrible gas mileage while cold. I drive to school everyday less than a mile away and average 14mpg. When I am home tho I get 17-18mpg city. Oh yeah, I never did mention, the bars perform GREAT. I noticed the biggest difference with the rear one. I installed it yesterday and drove it. The rear seems alot tighter and doesnt want to "roll" out when I hit a tight corner. The front one wasnt as big of a difference but its still there. I installed it this morning and drove it. It seems like it follows the wheels better instead of dragging the front end around the corner. Quote
Cully77 Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 Ooo I was wondering how the front looked so shiny again, great job! And yeah that Held bar is great, I paid a premium for it but I think it was worth it... great design. Really nice guy if you ever talk to him too. Glad these went to a good home matt Quote
jake91 Posted May 10, 2009 Report Posted May 10, 2009 looks good. i wish i could put a rear stb in my car Quote

webxfx Posted May 11, 2009 Report Posted May 11, 2009 yes Good to know, cause I didn't think it would clear the 96+ intake... Quote
mrl390 Posted May 11, 2009 Author Report Posted May 11, 2009 Yep, the front brace is a factory cutlass brace. It clears the intake no problem. Quote
GPX Posted May 11, 2009 Report Posted May 11, 2009 looks good. i wish i could put a rear stb in my car My AWeb RSTB makes a huge difference. I thought the verts came with one standard? Quote
jake91 Posted May 11, 2009 Report Posted May 11, 2009 no just the front, and you cant put a rear in the verts because the top would hit it, and not go all the way down. Quote
SrMichi Posted May 13, 2009 Report Posted May 13, 2009 looks good. i wish i could put a rear stb in my car My AWeb RSTB makes a huge difference. I thought the verts came with one standard? I cant wait to get my rear rstb from AWeb. I wonder if he found a bar Quote
digitaloutsider Posted May 13, 2009 Report Posted May 13, 2009 yes Good to know, cause I didn't think it would clear the 96+ intake... The 3.4 bar will clear anything. Quote

I cant wait to get my rear rstb from AWeb. I wonder if he found a bar Adam sent me the wrong bar the first time around and I didn't discover it until I had sanded, primed and painted it! It was an inch too short. I now use that bar for leverage. Broke a T-60 socket with it the other day! Good times. Quote
