patgizz
problem: 2001 intrigue w/ 3.5 shortstar - differential exploded. trans is otherwise assumed fine as it was rebuilt (clutch packs and seals) within 20k miles. potential solution: 1996 lumina parts car w/ good trans question: can we take the differential and potentially housing if necessary and swap from lumina to intrigue? slick
Just asked Rob, he says nope. I'm sure he will get on later to explain the differences.
White93z34
FUCK. I just gave away a 4t65e that had a good diff. if you want I can see if he still has it and would let the diff plus cover go. but IIRC the 3.5 intrigues got 3.29 gears so the diff from any L36 or LX5 gen 2 w body should work
patgizz
hmm. not really concerned with gearing if it ends up with a 3.33 gearset, just need to get the car on the road. what has to come off to get to the diff? the housing behind the engine or the big cover on the drivers side? i've never had one of these apart that far. Remove axle, and Just the diff cover from the passenger side, and pull it out.
