dhs1223
Greetings - I am the proud owner of a 3.4 DOHC motor in a cutlass vert. The car was in storage from November until last week. Last week I went and started the car, it seemed to run OK, but I only drove it a couple of miles until it reached operating temperature and then I shut it down. Today, I went to move the car from the storage facility that costs me rent to a new place that is free of charge, which is great. HOWEVER, on the drive to the new place, the car began running rough as if it was missing on one cylinder, well, when I got to the storage place, I parked the car and opened the hood, and what did I find, oil on the front head cover, so I pulled the plug wires and found that the oil had been pushed up through plug number 2. Plug numbers 4 and six were clean and dry. So, based on this description, please tell me what went wrong. I have an idea what it may be, but, I hope that I am mistaken. What may have caused this problem, and what am I looking at in terms of repairs? Thank you in advance to the members of W-body forum. This is a great place supporting great cars. ManicMechanic
Perhaps the o-ring on the cam cover is rotten and allowed oil to seep though and down the spark plug shaft.
