89SupremeCutty
i know this has been debated many many times on here on what plugs are best for the 3100. but i would like to know how good denso platinum tt plugs are. the reason i ask is that advance auto has them on sale for $1.99, which is a dollar off the origional price. UnRealKillR
I have BOSCH Platinum+2's in mine, i had them in my last car and they seem to be pretty good. i've been thinkin about getting the Ir Fusions though.. BOSCH has a rebate going that would be $2 off of them ($1 off of the +2's) http://www.boschautoparts.com/BoschShop/SpecialPromotions/SparkPlugPromo.htm

UnRealKillR
No, it was a 93 Grand Am. i haven't had any problems with them in mine yet...
xtremerevolution
No, it was a 93 Grand Am. i haven't had any problems with them in mine yet... Nobody said you would have problems. Not having problems doesn't mean they run well or as well as ACDELCO plugs.
UnRealKillR
they seem to run well, although i'm not exactly knowledgeable w/ them though.
89SupremeCutty
i'll stick with the delcos then.

Not having problems doesn't mean they run well or as well as ACDELCO plugs. they run until they foul out and quit.... plus with the reverse spark system on every other plug in our cars, spark plugs not designed for reversed polarity will not last long. Addicted To Boost
In simple terms, Waste Spark Ignition Systems EAT platinum plugs.

I once composed a quick database of plugs (gone in a harddrive crash), and all of our cars basically use the same plug... the standard plug in a 96-97 3100 was the optional in a 94-95, the standard plug in a 94-95 3100 was the optional in a 88-93 3.1/2.8 interesting... I should source the data and re-make the database...

Go with regular ac delcos the 3100 doesn't like anything platnium for some reason really? even after '97? ken would you be willing to make a new database and post it as a sticky if the mods allow? i think this will help everyone out who asks about what plugs to put in our cars. xtremerevolution
Hmm, I'm interested here. I have Champion Platinum plugs in my regal now and its pulling pretty well. Can't say I can complain since I'm fairly sure it now runs in the 15's (after I roasted that Benz C240), but I'd change them out if I knew I could get something noticeably better. I also tried NGK iridiums for a while and those weren't bad either.

The plug has to be made to survive the reverse polarity that affects our plugs; many platinum plug only have one contact that has platinum, to survive in our cars, both have to be platinum Are Rapidfires platinum???
