Is the Fiero 2.8 block the same as the w-body 2.8 block?

I was gona take the spare 2.8 from my friends fiero he just picked up as a block to play with for a new engine and was just curious if they were the same, I assume they are, would the mount bolt up in the same spot?

I'm going to say no... it's a Gen 1 60* v6, the TGP has a Gen 2 60* V6

This is correct. Pistons are different, the block has no provisions for a CKP sensor, and the motor is externally balanced unless it is an '88. There's probably a bunch more differences, but these are the ones that I can think of at the moment.

ok cool, thanx, I was just thinkin of building something nice for the 89 possibly and I figured I could get that off him for next to nothing, it would be more for fun than anything else really..lol
