SmoothSteve3
Hey guys- Ok, for the past 6 to 8 months, my 3.1 MPFI has been having really hard start ups..........like even in the summer time, i usually have to turn the key once, stop, and turn it again before she catches. Now the trick, is that it acts fine once its warmed up. But if it sits for more than 5 hours, she gets hard to start. I thought maybe fuel pump, but I really dont know. Any suggesstions? Thanks! Redfox340
What do you mean by 'catches'? The starter is fully engaging to crank to motor, correct? Or it's wanting to turn but it'll happen after the second time you crank? Might be a good idea to check the fuel pressure, but I've got a hunch it could be a Crank Position Sensor. Especially when there's a tempreture change involved. See what you can do about isolating the issue and go from there. - Erik
