gpchris Posted April 14, 2009 Report Posted April 14, 2009 Well I saw this app for the iphone where you just put the iphone in your cupholder and you can measure quarter miles and whp more accuratly than those expensive dash mount peices of garbage. Well I downloaded the app and tried it out. Check out the results! Quote
CSI_MuNkY Posted April 14, 2009 Report Posted April 14, 2009 sweet! now just if I could get an iphone for less than the cost of a G-tech Jamie Quote
5speedz34 Posted April 14, 2009 Report Posted April 14, 2009 That app costs alot right? I know they have one that works as a real time scanner IIRC and its like $200 I think. Quote
gpchris Posted April 14, 2009 Author Report Posted April 14, 2009 the app was $10 bucks.. Considering i already had an iphone it only costed me $10 bucks for something thats been proven to be more accurate the the gtech. Quote
gpchris Posted April 14, 2009 Author Report Posted April 14, 2009 nice 60' High/low? Sorry i dont know anything about 60's... But i did have to let off the gas a little at the lauch to prevent wheel spin cuz i was a little slick outside. Quote
carkhz316 Posted April 14, 2009 Report Posted April 14, 2009 That is BA! I would consider buying an Iphone just for that and the scantool capability Quote

But i did have to let off the gas a little at the lauch to prevent wheel spin cuz i was a little slick outside. That's pretty high. I'd say an average 60' time for a stock 3100 w-body would be around 2.2. My 3.1 Lumina pulled a high 2.1 a couple of times, and the best I've done in my GP was 2.34. Quote
5speedz34 Posted April 14, 2009 Report Posted April 14, 2009 Is this a 3x00 car or a 3.4 DOHC car? I know your sig says its a GTP, but those seem like really bad numbers for a 3.4. Quote
oldscsc Posted April 14, 2009 Report Posted April 14, 2009 this is a 3g only app, isnt it Touch 1 / 2 g iPhone 1 / 2 / 3 g Any iPhone platform, in other words. Quote
Psych0matt Posted April 14, 2009 Report Posted April 14, 2009 hmmm, I recall trying to download it a a few months ago and it telling me I didn't have a 3g, so i couldn't download it... I'll check again Quote
mfewtrail Posted April 15, 2009 Report Posted April 15, 2009 Cool app, but it's giving out very optimistic trap speeds if that car has a 3100 in it. Quote
jeremy Posted April 15, 2009 Report Posted April 15, 2009 That is BA! I would consider buying an Iphone just for that and the scantool capability why not buy a real scanner/tuner? Quote

Addicted To Boost Posted April 15, 2009 Report Posted April 15, 2009 Should be about right to the wheels.. Quote
RobertISaar Posted April 15, 2009 Report Posted April 15, 2009 Should be about right to the wheels.. almost 31% drivetrain loss.... seems a bit too low if you ask me. Quote
GnatGoSplat Posted April 15, 2009 Report Posted April 15, 2009 Cool app, I'll have to get that! Quote
GP1138 Posted April 15, 2009 Report Posted April 15, 2009 That is BA! I would consider buying an Iphone just for that and the scantool capability why not buy a real scanner/tuner? The iPhone is basically a small computer. Assuming someone wrote an application, it could do anything those standalone devices could do. Quote
stevegasm Posted April 15, 2009 Report Posted April 15, 2009 I have dynolicious on mine. I can never find a good road to test it on though Quote

I'm sure that given the correct program that it could. It's not capable of doing so at the moment, because no program exists, but if it had the correct cable and software, sure. Quote
