GOT2B GM Posted April 13, 2009 Report Posted April 13, 2009 Since I'm picking up a 5 spd Z34, I traded Jeff the 284 swap I had for these wheels NIB. 284: Wheels: 17" x 8" BSA 264's Also got a fastback Fiero trunk seal (impossible to find in decent shape) and a billet aluminum UDP for the Fiero as part of the trade. Sell the wheels? or save for tires and put them on the Z? Quote
mediabandit Posted April 13, 2009 Report Posted April 13, 2009 In all honesty, i think you should sell them and try to find something else for the Z, i don't really like them on there, they look out of place. But in all fairness, in the end it is your decision. Quote
jeremy Posted April 13, 2009 Report Posted April 13, 2009 I really like the style of the wheels ( I think the PS doesn't make them look good though) ....but I would try to sell them and buy some 18s ..... Quote
CSI_MuNkY Posted April 13, 2009 Report Posted April 13, 2009 I say try the wheels on the Z before you make any final choices. Maybe not with rubber, but get them put on one side so you can get a better idea of what they will look like. Jamie Quote
Addicted To Boost Posted April 13, 2009 Report Posted April 13, 2009 I say get rid of the wheels. I don't care for the way they look on the Z. Quote
GOT2B GM Posted April 13, 2009 Author Report Posted April 13, 2009 I think I'll do what Jamie suggested and put one on to get a non photoshopped idea of what they would look like, then make a decision. Getting the car next weekend. Quote
Euro Posted April 13, 2009 Report Posted April 13, 2009 I agree with Jamie. I think they'll look good on the Z, personally!!!! But seeing them in person on the car would be 100x better than the PS Quote
GOT2B GM Posted April 13, 2009 Author Report Posted April 13, 2009 And on a plus note, they seem very light, maybe I'll weigh one tomorrow Quote
5speedz34 Posted April 13, 2009 Report Posted April 13, 2009 Ya I agree with Jamie. That photoshop didn't do them justice. Quote
Venom Posted April 13, 2009 Report Posted April 13, 2009 I like 'em. But like a few ppl said, try them on the car first. Quote
radman3120 Posted April 15, 2009 Report Posted April 15, 2009 my original thought was to keep em. 17x8 and light is a good combo and they dont look bad. check it out on the car like everyone is sayin. what wheels do you currently have? if theyre stock, i would def keep these. otherwise i'd have to see pics but if you do sell them let me know how much you are lookin and how much they weigh. i'd like to eventually find somethin 8 inches wide for autocross Quote
GOT2B GM Posted April 15, 2009 Author Report Posted April 15, 2009 I'm picking the Z34 up this weekend and it has MINT stockers. Quote
slick Posted April 15, 2009 Report Posted April 15, 2009 If you plan on modifying the suspension on it, I'd say keep them. The 17x8's will give you a good tire size, especially for auto x (unless you'd toss the x-laces on the car, which would probably be an even better option). IMO, anything is better than 1-gen Lumina wheels! Quote
GOT2B GM Posted April 15, 2009 Author Report Posted April 15, 2009 Right now the modding budget is tight, so I think all the Z34 will see this year is tint. I already have the TGP suspension fully done, so I may just leave this one alone. Quote
kuntzie Posted April 19, 2009 Report Posted April 19, 2009 matt i was curious to know the weight on these before i traded... let me knowm they are definitly a light rim Quote
CSI_MuNkY Posted April 19, 2009 Report Posted April 19, 2009 We did weigh them, I guess he never posted... 22.1lb identical weight to a cross lace. But, one inch bigger. I wish I understood rolling mass and exactly how the effects are when you move the weight outward. I know it takes more force to move the same weight the farther from the center you get it. But at 1 inch bigger, its highly unlikely that there would be any noticeable change. Jamie Quote
