carkhz316 Posted April 1, 2009 Report Posted April 1, 2009 Well, like topic says, I'm wondering what the piping sizes are, past/ downstream of the Cat. converter. Here's the kicker. It's for my euro, which being a 3.1, is original piping to right in front of the rear wheels. Need that pipe size, I.D. and/or O.D. From there on, I have it cobbled together (which is now leaking, I'm getting sick of booger-welding it back together) to a dual setup from a Z34. I am almost sure there is a difference in pipe size, but regardless, need both specs, from both pipes, so I can splice in a chunk of good pipe, and probably the necessary adapter on one end. I tried doing a quick search, and couldn't find what I wanted, so if there are any fellow W members who are bored and can help me out, that would be sweet. Thanks!! Quote
cperna15 Posted April 2, 2009 Report Posted April 2, 2009 goto http://www.overkillengineeringmotorsports.com/ and but there 3' exhaust kit, its so worth it it make your car sound so badass and scares the shit outta those ricer drivers i have it and i ran it with no cats no resanator and no mufflers. it might be a good idea th get a pair of glasspacks though but overall it was so worth it Quote
Hairdo12 Posted April 2, 2009 Report Posted April 2, 2009 The 3.1 pipe after the cat is 2 in OD all the way to the muffler. The 3.4 dual exhaust is 2.25 in OD after the cat and 2in OD after the Y. What I did on my 3.1 Lumina is, I have the 2 in strait piping after the cat go directly into the 2.25 piping of the dual exhaust setup - Just before the first bend where it goes around the gas tank. I then used a 2 1/8 in clamp to hold it together. No need for adapters, fits perfectly. Quote

jtwmechanic Posted April 3, 2009 Report Posted April 3, 2009 i am a total believer in do it your self, but when it comes to exhaust let a pro with a bender and a guarantee do it. it will last for years leak free and won't come loose if done right. Quote

Agreed, though the section I'm trying to fix is just a straight, upstream from the Y, so it'll be a pretty easy fix with a chunk of good pipe. Quote
jtwmechanic Posted April 3, 2009 Report Posted April 3, 2009 i thought you meant fix it not fix it. Quote
