Drummer
it's a gen 1.5 theft lock radio/cd player and i'm woundering about the Aux part on the cd button. I know you can hook up a mp3 player to it but what exactly do i need for this to work? Looking around i didn't really find anything to get to make it workexcept for some sort of an adapter. If anyone can tell me where i can get this adapter or something of the sort please let me know. Thanks!!!
jimmyfloyd
http://www.pie.net/pie_store/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=124&cat=GM The first one will plug into the back of the headunit. The 2nd one will plug in to the factory cable if you have a CD/CD changer pre-wire. Only works if you have a tape player.
oldscsc
I was wondering about that too. Those adapters are pretty pricey though!

oldscsc
So how is the iPod connected, just with the same cord as a stock mp3 radio? Where does the cord come from, does if have to be routed from behind the CD player to the front? And the adapter costs $85?
Addicted2bass
The cord would have to be routed from wherever you put the module. I usually run the cables to the glovebox if you can control the ipod through the radio. If you'll be controlling it through the ipod itself run the cable somewhere that makes the ipod more easily accessible.
Drummer
I bought the adapter on ebay for 72.99 shipped and got a 3ft adapter for like 3 bucks, also ebay, so not a bad price compared to almost 100 bucks.
Drummer
well i installed the adapter and it didnt work so i looked around and found out that ot only works on the am/fm/tape player with the 9 pinout for the slave cd player so now i might try swapping pinouts and whatever is associated with it and see how that goes.
