Ebay Hubs/Wheel Bearings?

Q-Ball

Recommended Posts

How does this look? My regal threw an abs light in the winter. Its been long off since the weather cleared up and was told it is most likely the wheel hub. How do ebay ones hold up? It looks identical to the one I already bought. Even though mine costed my $180 at cost for the premium. So I am thinking about taking it back and order one or 2 of these.

When it comes to bearings, ball joints, and tie rod ends, don't fuck around with the cheap China made shit, unless you wanna do the job again in 6 months (if they last THAT long)

Made in Korea pieces of crap!

I rememeber you made a thread on this... I was digging but I couldnt find it. Did you ever end up getting them?

/thread

I think stockGP bought two e-bay specials.. and they both went bad in a week?

AVOID.

Eww, that would such a waste of time. I dont get how they say they are fully OEM replacements. Sure I guess they fit, but the lifetime is so low.

thats actually not a bad deal. Even with border fee's to get it to me. Anymore info on these? Would these be considered the "Premiums"?

I bought the one for my right front from ebay but although it has no play it has always been noisy

One thing I hate is noise. After putting brand new rotors and pads my rear brakes always squeek at low speeds.

So basically if you just want to cheap route to get by. Ahhh, I think I will pass on this crap than. :willynilly:

autozone special here, no problems in almost a year :dunno:

I would think Autozone is a lot like Parts Source here in Canada. I dont know where they get their parts, but I usually have more faith in getting it from an auto store, than off ebay.

Not to derail the thread but you mentioned:

That new rotors and pads you put on made your car squeak at low speeds. I was going to say I through on some wagner rotors and pads and never had a issue. What brand did you use? I hope it wasnt from ebay as well. :high5:

mine lasted about 2 years, and has gone bad again, but oh well, it isnt nearly as loud as they were to begin with, admitably, i dont know how much longer i will be keeping the car, but it wasnt too painful to fix.

Let me get this straight...The ABS light came on during the winter, now that the weather is better, it is functioning correctly? If thats the case, I would be checking out the connections first. I had this happen to my regal a few times this winter. It was during a really wet, and messy spell. Once I washed the car, it never happened again. I'm gonna guess that there is a contact that is corroding due to the weather.

yah, i would say the "shock tower" or whatever you want to call it, the wire that runs from the positive battery cable to where you are supposed to jump the car. that gets corroded, and if you look at the cute little fuse panel right there, one of things running off of that is "ABS" so that would cause the light to come on, b/c it isnt getting enough juice.....clean up the contact points, and you should be just fine and dandy.
