i wish i could afford newer cars, but anywho so this is my new issue on my 91 buick regal 3.1. about a week ago i was drivin a freind to work and when i went to start up my car iam used to hearing the loud noise of my fuel pump turning on,you kno, turn the key on, fuel pump powers up then go, but this time it sounded very very weak almost like it was struggling and all haggard but it ran fine.it did this for a few days.

then out of nowhere i was drivin and my car jus sputters out,i couldnt start it,it turned over but no start. .eventually after trying it starts, barely, runs like ass...but i have drivin it by pumping the gas pedal just betwenn 1000 and 2500 rpms and beteween those it can run but push harder on the gas and it starts to stall out.eventuallly it can drive around but shitty and i always have to have my foot on the gas to hold it around 1000 1500 rpms.

either way iam not gona drive it like that cuz thats gay, so my question is, is it the fuel pump?i mite jus put it over to a shop and let them c whats up but id like to run by you guys.

Sounds like Fuel pump, I know someone will chime in on replacing it, when was the last time the fuel filter was changed? A clogged one can kill a pump quicker than anything.

i member changing the fuel filter a long while ago, yea probably over due...and as i figured and from what ure sayin, it is the damn fuel pump, but to check the fuel pressure how do i go about doin that again, its been awhile..?? oh and whats a fuel pump goin for theese days 400-700$? iam not doin it myself cuz i kno its WAY easier with a hoist, oh and my tanks pretty much full lol.
