GP1138
Thats how I know I am on the W-body site. That's how I know I'm reading a post by Dohc v6, condescending to people you perceive as inferior. I mean, WTF? Great job, almighty fabricator of parts. 9lumina6
where did you get the connectors? Home Depot Thats how I know I am on the W-body site. Hey if it works, why not. Until the heat gets to it. That rubber wont last more than 6 months under that kind of temp. people on 3800 sites have been using those for years with no problems Thanks for trying to knock us. We all know you're the almighty The rubber that this duct is made of can withstand temps to 275*F......doesnt get that hot under there. Try again. And like Euro said......there are countless people on the GP forums that have the exact FWI setup as myself with no problems what so ever. You guys all take things out of context way to easily. I was just simply putting saying that a rubber hose connector is not as good as a silicone one. Am I wrong? I did not say that the guys intake is garbage at all, for crying out loud you guys have something against me, and thats cool.
BXX
lol @ that rubber wont last 6 months... last time I checked, our stock intake hoses are made of a cheaper quality rubber and last well over 20 years Yes, silicone is better, but its not a high power turbo vehicle I personally just use the $10 couplers from Autozone, sure they arent that thick, but they are silicone and work great on a non-turbo intake setup... I think they have a 3" to 3.5" coupler

Hell, i guernetee they are the same product most of the time... I just bought mine at Autozone for my current intake because I had a gift card there. Night Fury
How did you mount it? Or is it just tucked in there snugly?

9lumina6
How did you mount it? Or is it just tucked in there snugly? You gotta take the driver front wheel off.....and the inner fender off with a couple of screws and 1 bolt on the bottom..... you can bend that part up and let it rest on the brake rotor. You will need to dis-connect the fender bracket you see in there that clearly gets in the way of the cone. I just un-bolted the bottom of it....left the top part still in and bent the bottom towards the outside of the car. You can feed the hose thru that "triangle" of you will. And then connect the hose to the filter inside the fenderwell from where you took the inner-fender plastic out.
