runt Posted August 29, 2003 Report Posted August 29, 2003 Ok....so is there anyway that I can read my ECM Codes from on OBD-II computer? I have a 96 CS and I am pretty sure that it is OBD-II. I know that you can read it through using a paper clip (at least on an OBD-I), just curious if it is the same on the II and what are the code numbers? Also, I paid off my car today. It's a good feeling knowing that I am the owner of my car and I don't owe the bank anything!! Quote
supreme_style21 Posted August 29, 2003 Report Posted August 29, 2003 All I know is that you can't read the codes off an ODB II by jumping it with a paper clip.. actually, I think you can short out some bad stuff by doing that on some cars. Quote
Redfox340 Posted August 29, 2003 Report Posted August 29, 2003 Piece of cake; there's some home computer interfacing already posted on another thread. Have a look: OBDII Home Scanning - Erik Quote
runt Posted August 29, 2003 Author Report Posted August 29, 2003 Excellent. Thats great stuff!! I actually got it fixed. I have a cone airfilter on the car and it fell off (oh shit) but only for a lil while, so I think the MAF was just giving it a stupid code. Thanks for the help! Quote
cutlassdude96 Posted August 30, 2003 Report Posted August 30, 2003 you can also goto autozone and have them scan it for free Quote
