Addicted to eaton
91-97 lumina cutlass montecarlo grandprix any car with the 3.4 Very wrong info I think a grand prix, cutlass, lumina Any car with a 3.4 but i think only 1991-1993 You have a Vacume transmission not E
jake91
oh sorry i forgot that they switched it from vacume to electronic thank you for correcting me
spiderw31
Actually IIRC, he would have the -e tranny. I believe that the even the 3.1 got the -e in '93, but all 3.4s got it from day one. At least my '92 has it for sure, so I believe that your first post is correct jake.
Andrew
oh dear, so many noobs posting bad info... you have the 4t60-e. they had some changes over the years, and i think 93 is a 93 only type year. maybe a 92 or 94 would work as well, not sure. Ken or Manic would know.
GOT2B GM
x2 All LQ1's (91-95) came with 4T60-E's I'm not sure if the 96-97 had the 60 or 65.... 93 was the first year the 3.1 MPFI got mated to the 4T60-E So I will say you can use a trans from a 93 W car, LHO or LQ1
jman093
96's and 97's still had the 4T60-E (thank God).
AL
I have a trans from my 93 DOHC car... Wanna buy it? http://www.w-body.com/forum/index.php?topic=76015.0 I was told that the 94-97 trannys are different than the 91-93 Trannys... carkhz316
96's and 97's still had the 4T60-E (thank God). Correct-a-mundo. Even the 3.8 didn't get the 4T65E until 1998. 93 was the first year the 3.1 MPFI got mated to the 4T60-E I thought that '91 was the last year of 4T60/ TH440? Crazy K
EVERYONE OF YOU NEEDS TO LEARN!!!! All LQ1's (91-95) came with 4T60-E's FALSE! You forgot about the 284! <3 91-96 3.4 LQ1s used the 4t60e and the 4t60e DOES USE a vacuum modulator. 97 3.4 LQ1s used the 4t65e no vacuum modulator. 1993 4t60e is a 1993 direct swap only. 91-92, and 94-95 will substitute if you "swap the case wiring" (or re-pin your external connector) 96 may fall in the same boat, but there are other differences to the internals. ALSO, the donor trans must come from a 3.4 car or you will have the wrong gear ratio.
GOT2B GM
But the 3.1 93 4T60E will work with a LQ1, besides the gear ratio differences I was more or less kinda right.

AL
Nope... I drove out here to Nebraska from Ohio on it and put 500 miles on it out here before it was parted out... The drivetrain of the car was/is perfect but the frame rusted out and brake/fuel lines under the car were rusting through and my support arms in the rear were so fragile I could bend them by hand... So that why I parted it out...
Crazy K
3.1 cars still got the 4T60 until 93... 94 they got the E FALSE on the 3.1mpfi, 93 was the first year to get the 4t60e, 92 was the last for the 4t60 the tranny you are offering is from a 93 3.4 correct?
